The Ireland we grew up in has changed dramatically particularly in the last 20 years or so, and for the most part I think it is for the better. There is a new national pride and this can be attributed back to Italia 90 and Riverdance, when suddenly it became ok to say we were Irish, when we held our heads high and began to appreciate what we stood for as people and what we had within our country. I think this is still very evident and especially with the younger generation who are proud to carry instruments and tell their friends they play Irish music, or tell their friends they can't go to a party because they are dancing at a Feis. How wonderful to at last look at, appreciate and love our country and our heritage and in these little ramblings of mine I'd like to share some of my Ireland with you.......it could be anything but it's mine |

Couldn't agree more. I have also noticed that even though there may be a recession physically there is no recession mentally. The Irish are moving forward and going about their business and their life with a very very positive attitude which after all is exactly what the Irish are all about.... Don't worry, be happy...
